DictionarySeemousePS/2 port
PS/2 portA hardware interface used to connect a mouse or keyboard to a computer via a 6-pin Mini-DIN plug and socket. Introduced on IBM's PS/2 desktop PC in 1987, the port was later used by all non-IBM PCs, first on laptops, then on desktops. Subsequently, PS/2 connections were replaced with USB. However, in the 2000s, motherboards with PS/2 ports made a comeback for gamers. Due to its interrupt-driven design, the PS/2 interface has a lower latency for the keyboard than USB. See IBM PS/2.
