Location:6 miles south of Dardanelle, Arkansas.
Facilities:Visitor contact station, boat ramps, auto tour route, trail, observation tower.
Activities:Boating, canoeing, fishing, hunting, hiking.
Special Features:Refuge lies along the Arkansas River and is bounded by an old oxbow lake that was created when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers cut a channel through the bend in the river to promote navigation and flood control.
Habitats: 7,057 acres of farm fields, shallow water impoundments, and river channel.
Access: Open year round during daylight hours.
Wild life: Mallard, pintail, teal, wigeon, gadwall, and Canada and snow geese. Also provides habitat for white-tailed deer, turkey, bobcat, and coyote.
