释义 | wellingtonian. A very large conifer, Sequoiadendron giganteum (family Cupressaceae), of central California, closely related to the coast or California redwood, Sequoia sempervirens. Also: the former genus Wellingtonia, to which this originally belonged. Also called giant sequoia, giant redwood. S. giganteum has the largest volume of any tree.
