1868 J. D. Dana Min. 335 Haüy's name, Amphigene, is..in allusion to the existence of cleavage in two directions (which is not a fact), and to his inference therefrom of ‘two primitive forms’ (which is only a notion of his); and it has therefore the best of claims for rejection.
