Etymology: Apparently < un- prefix² + ridge n.¹The word is apparently only used with allusion to Hebrews 4:12 and Revelation 1:16. Hellenistic Greek τετραχηλισμένα in Hebrews 4:13 (compare quot. 1659) is the passive perfect participle of ancient Greek τραχηλίζειν to bend the neck, (passive) to be laid open (<τράχηλος neck: see trachelo- comb. form).

Obsolete.
