II. v. 560/2 Another method [of inducing symptoms of Parkinsonism] involves the use of the drug tremorine..or its active metabolite oxotremorine which induce tremor, rigidity, akinesia, analgesia and signs of peripheral cholinergic stimulation in many animal species.
1972 R. W. Brimblecombe & R. M. Pinder Tremors iv. 96 Leslie & Maxwell (1964) first suggested that oxotremorine is a more desirable tool in screening compounds for anti-Parkinson activity than is tremorine.
1976 Nature 15 July 221/2 Tremorine, which is oxidised in vivo to oxotremorine by mammals, showed only slight activity against ticks.
