Etymology: < post-classical Latin traductivus (of a kind of poetic metre) derivative (3rd cent.), hereditary (13th cent.) < classical Latin trāduct- , past participial stem of trāducere traduce v. + -īvus -ive suffix. In sense 2 after deductive adj. 1 and inductive adj. 4. Compare earlier traduction n.
Now rare.
