Origin: A borrowing from Greek, combined with an English element; probably modelled on a French lexical item. Etymons: Greek ῥιν- , ῥίς , -al suffix1.
Etymology: < ancient Greek ῥιν-, ῥίς nose (see rhino- comb. form) + -al suffix1, probably after French rhinal (1845 or earlier).
