Origin: A borrowing from German. Etymon: German Ramdohrit.

Etymology: < German Ramdohrit (F. Ahlfeld 1930, in Centralblatt f. Mineral., Geol. u. Paläontol. A. 367) < the name of Paul Ramdohr (1890–1985), German mineralogist and specialist in opaque ore mineralogy, in whose university department the mineral was first identified + -it -ite suffix¹.

Mineralogy.

A silver-containing sulphide mineral occurring as long grey-black prisms. Ramdohrite is a sulphide of lead, silver, and antimony, Ag₃Pb₆Sb₁₁S₂₄. Crystal system: monoclinic.
