Origin: Either (i) formed within English, by derivation. Or (ii) from a proper name, combined with an English element. Etymons: Beatle n., proper name The Beatles , -esque suffix.
Etymology: < either Beatle n. or the name of The Beatles (see Beatle n.) + -esque suffix.
Characteristic or reminiscent of The Beatles, their music, or their cultural impact (see Beatlemania n. at Beatle n. Derivatives). Sometimes: spec. typical or redolent of the catchy, upbeat melodies, close vocal harmonies, or tight, guitar-led arrangements of early Beatles records (see Mersey sound at Mersey n.).
