Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French pissoir.
Etymology: < French pissoir public urinal (1803, chiefly regional (northern); 1489 in Middle French as adjective in pot pissoir chamber pot, 1546 as noun in form pissouoir , 1586 in sense ‘place where one urinates’) < pisser piss v. + -oir (see -ory suffix1).
A public urinal, esp. one enclosed only by a screen or wall.
