Origin: A borrowing from Spanish. Etymon: Spanish perdido.
Etymology: < Spanish perdido criminal, immoral person (1567; a1320 in plural in theological sense ‘the damned’), use as noun of the past participle of perder to lose < classical Latin perdere (see perdition n.). Compare perdu n.
