Forms: see over- prefix and reckon v.
Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: over- prefix, reckon v.

Now rare.
1.
a. transitive. To reckon or calculate (something) so as to arrive at too high a value; to overestimate. Also (occasionally) intransitive. In quot. 1537 perhaps: to overestimate the funds available for spending. However, the reading in this quot. may not be secure, as the MS has been corrected, and further text (perhaps ‘hi’ or ‘hy’) has been interlineated between ‘over’ and ‘rekenyd’.
