Etymology: < post-classical Latin mutuatitius borrowed (a1605; compare classical Latin mūtuātīcius as a variant reading in Aulus Gellius (modern scholars read mūtuāticus ); < classical Latin mūtuāt- , past participial stem of mūtuārī to borrow (see mutuate v.) + -ītius : see -itious suffix1) + -ous suffix.
Obsolete. rare.
