Etymology: < French mysorine (F. S. Beudant Traité élém. de minéral. (ed. 2, 1832) II. 369) < the name of Mysore (see Mysore n.) + -ine -ine suffix⁵, with change in the form of the suffix in English (see -in suffix¹).

Mineralogy. Now historical.

A mineral now recognized as an impure form of malachite, found in Karnataka (formerly Mysore) in southern India.
