释义 | Montenegrinn.adj. A. n. 1. a. A native or inhabitant of Montenegro, a country in south-eastern Europe on the eastern coast of the Adriatic sea.Until the 20th cent., Montenegro was a de facto independent state, ruled by the Petrović-Njegoš dynasty from 1696–1918. It was absorbed into the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes (later Yugoslavia) after the end of the First World War (1914–18). In 1991–2 all constituent republics of Yugoslavia except Serbia and Montenegro seceded, causing the Wars of Yugoslav Succession (1991–5). The remaining part of Yugoslavia was renamed Serbia and Montenegro in 2003, and separated into two independent states in 2006.
