1990 Garden Answers July 28/1 Very similar to the cordon is the new ‘minarette’ tree (from Ken Muir of Clacton-on-Sea). These are a combination of specially chosen dwarfing rootstocks and fruiting varieties to give naturally small trees.
1995 Independent on Sunday 5 Mar. (Review Suppl.) 69/1 Minarette trees can also be bought as pears, mulberries, cherries, plums, damsons and gages.
1998 Your Garden Oct. 18/2 (advt.) When mature, Minarettes are 6/8ft tall and crop prolifically.
