Origin: Either (i) formed within English, by derivation. Or (ii) a borrowing from Greek, combined with an English element. Etymons: misogyn n.; Greek μισογύνης , -ic suffix.
Etymology: < misogyn n. or its etymon ancient Greek μισογύνης (see misogynist n.) + -ic suffix. Compare earlier misogynean adj., misogynistic adj.
