Compare similar use of aswunden , past participle of aswind v., also in the manuscripts of Laȝamon's Brut (e.g. in quot. c1275 at aswind v. 2).

Obsolete.

Lacking courage or strength. Cf. aswind v. 2.In quot. c1275 the sense is either ‘worn out, exhausted’ or ‘dejected, dispirited’.
