Behaviour characteristic of the biblical figure Laban; esp. selfishness, materialism.Laban promised Jacob that he could marry his daughter Rachel if Jacob worked for him for seven years. However, at the end of the seven years, Laban tricked Jacob into marrying his daughter Leah instead, so that he then had to work another seven years. See Genesis 29:15–30. ΚΠ 1884 Health Exhib. Lit.
