1681 R. Knox Hist. Relation Ceylon i. vii. 30 There is a Creature here called Kobberaguion, resembling an Alligator. The biggest may be five or six foot long, speckled black and white.
1892 C. F. G. Cumming Two Happy Years Ceylon (ed. 4) II. xx. 176 A gigantic lizard, or rather iguana, of a greenish-grey colour, with yellow stripes and spots, called by the natives kabragoya, awoke from its midday sleep... The kabragoya is amphibious.
