Origin: Formed within English, by compounding; perhaps modelled on a French lexical item. Etymons: allo- comb. form, anonymous adj., pseudonymous adj.
Etymology: < allo- comb. form + -nymous (in anonymous adj., pseudonymous adj., etc.), perhaps after French allonyme (see allonym n.).
Published or appearing under the name of someone other than the actual author; falsely attributed to an author.
