1803 J. Barclay New Anat. Nomencl. 165–6 The new terms by a change of termination, may be used adverbially..Dextrad will signify towards the dextral aspect.
1882 B. G. Wilder & S. H. Gage Anat. Technol. Domest. Cat 27 Barclay proposed that the various adjective forms should be converted into adverbs by substituting for the ending -al the letters -ad, the Latin equivalent of the English -ward. Thus dorsal, ventral, dextral, sinistral, and lateral become dorsad, ventrad, dextrad, sinistrad, and laterad.
1883 New Sydenham Soc. Lexicon Dextrad aspect.
