Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease
Used attributively and in the possessive, usually in Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease, to designate a communicable progressive disease of the human brain, caused by a prion, in which the degeneration and loss of neurones result in dementia and loss of mobility, and which is accompanied by histological changes characteristic of other spongiform encephalopathies.
