Etymology: < advect- (in advection n.) + -ive suffix. Compare French advectif (1910 or earlier; perhaps < English), and also post-classical Latin advectivus bringing (1550 in a British source).
Chiefly Meteorology and Oceanography.
Resulting from or involving advection.
