‖ cuniculus|kjuːˈnɪkjʊləs| Pl. -uli. [L. cunīculus rabbit, burrow, underground passage.] 1. A burrow, underground passage, or mine; in Roman Archæol. applied to the ancient ‘cunicular’ drains of Latium and Southern Etruria.
