spencerite2 Min.|ˈspɛnsəraɪt| [f. the name of L. J. Spencer (1870–1959), British mineralogist + -ite1.] A hydrated basic zinc phosphate, Zn4(PO4)2(OH)2.3H2O, found as colourless or white monoclinic crystals, freq. in stalactitic masses, in a zinc mine near Salmo, British Columbia.
