Snowdon herald, one of the six Scottish heralds. Also ellipt.
Snowdon was occ. used as a name for Stirling, but Jamieson cites statements that the designation of the herald was derived from ‘Snowdoune castle of the county of Rosse’: cf. his note on Barbour's Bruce (1820) iii. 410 (= iv. 181), and the entry in his Dictionary s.v. Snawdoune.
