Condy's fluid [Name of Henry Bollmann Condy, 19th-c. English manufacturer of chemicals.] A strong solution of sodium manganate or permanganate, used as a disinfectant. Also (colloq.) Condy.

Condy Disinfection (1862) 37, I have fairly tested the efficacy of ‘Condy's Disinfecting Fluid’ upon a quantity of putrid meat which was rendered perfectly sweet thereby. 1859Lancet 1 Jan. 8/2 Condy's fluid was commenced on the fourth day, with immediate relief to the pain. 1866Chem.
