sinapine Chem.|ˈsɪnəpɪn| Also -in. [f. L. sināp-is mustard + -ine5.] ‘An organic base, existing as a sulphocyanate in white mustard-seed’ (Watts).

Bodies 903 There exists in it [mustard] a peculiar crystallizable body, to which they gave the name of sulphosinapisin; but which has been shortened by Berzelius into sinapin. 1857Miller Elem.
