‖ Chætodon Zool.|ˈkiːtəʊdɒn| Also chætodont. [mod.L. f. Gr. χαίτη hair + ὀδούς (ὀδοντ-) tooth.] A Linnæan genus of spiny-finned fishes (modern family Chætodontidæ), remarkable for their bristle-like teeth and bright colours.
