alypin Med.|əˈlaɪpɪn| Also -ine. [G. (E. Impens 1905, in Deut. Med. Wochenschr. XXXI. 1154/2), f. Gr. ἄλυπος painless + -in1.] A proprietary term for a glycerin derivative, used as a local anæsthetic.
