▪ I. chutter, v.|ˈtʃʌtə(r)| [Imit.] intr. To make a clattering, spluttering noise. Hence ˈchuttering vbl. n., (a) a subdued chirping (E.D.D.); (b) any kind of mechanically produced noise which is constantly repeated.
