sellaite Min.|ˈsɛləaɪt| [a. It. sellaite (Strüver 1868, in Atti d. R. Accad. d. Sci. di Torino: Classe di Sci. fis., etc. IV. 35), f. the name of Q. Sella (1827–84), Italian mining engineer and mineralogist: see -ite1.] Native magnesium fluoride, MgF2, occurring as fibrous aggregates of colourless tetragonal crystals.
