Pyramidon2 Pharm.|pɪˈræmɪdɒn| Also pyr-, -one |-əʊn|. [a. G. pyramidon (W. Filehne 1896, in Berliner klin. Wochenschr. XXXIII. 1061), f. pyrazolon pyrazolone with inserted amid- (see amido-).] A white crystalline solid used as an anti-pyretic and analgesic; 4-dimethylamino-1, 5-dimethyl-1-phenylpyrazolin-3-one, C13H17N3O. Formerly a proprietary term in Britain, and still registered as one in the U.S.
