dahoma, n. Bot.|dəˈhəʊmə| Also danhoma. [f. Dahoman n. and a. or Dahomey, former name of Benin in West Africa.] A tropical tree, Piptadeniastrum africanum, of the family Leguminosae (Mimosoideae), which is native chiefly to central and western Africa, and is harvested for its yellowish-brown timber; the wood of this tree.
