bronchotomy Surg.|brɒŋˈkɒtəmɪ| [mod. f. Gr. βρόγχος bronchus + -τοµία cutting.] The operation of making an incision in the wind-pipe; the generic term which includes thyrotomy, laryngotomy, and tracheotomy.
