sapotoxin Chem.|ˈsæpəʊtɒksɪn| Also -ine. [a. G. sapotoxin (R. Kobert 1887, in Arch. f. exper. Path. u. Pharm. XXIII. 241), f. med.L. sāpōnāria (see below and saponary a. and n.): see toxin.] A saponin found in the bark of the Chilean soap-bark tree, Quillaja saponaria; also, any markedly toxic saponin.
