schuchardtite Min.|ˈʃuːxətaɪt| [ad. G. schuchardtit (A. Schrauf 1882, in Zeitschr. für Krist. VI. 386), f. the name of Theodor Schuchardt, 19th-cent. mineral dealer: see -ite1.] An ill-defined green hydrated silicate of nickel, resembling chlorite.

Mineralogist LI. 292 The analytical data for schuchardtite are inconclusive; they do not fall near to the composition of the serpentine group where they would be expected to be situated but suggest admixture with pimelite. 1975Mineral Mag.
