scawtite Min.|ˈskɔːtaɪt| [f. the name Scawt (see quot. 1930) + -ite1.] A hydrated carbonate and silicate of calcium which occurs as minute, colourless, monoclinic crystals.

Mineralogist XLII. 387 A zone about ten inches thick between the larnite zone and the limestone consists essentially of scawtite.
