† ˈbrandenburgs Obs. [Prob. so called because worn in the army of the Elector of Brandenburg, afterwards king of Prussia; cf. Fr. brandebourg, ‘boutonnière avec ornement’ (Boiste).] pl. a. The ornamental facings to the breast of an officer's coat.
