rybat Sc.|ˈraɪbət| Forms: 6 rebatt, 9 ribet, rybet, rybat; 8–9 ribbet, 9 ribbit, rebbit. [prob. a variant of rabbet n., rebate n.2, but used in the same sense as reveal n.2] A polished stone reveal (side-piece) for windows, doors, etc. Also attrib. α1554Extr. Rec. Burgh Edinb.
