▪ I. roque|rəʊk| [An arbitrary alteration of croquet n.; cf. roquet n.] A form of croquet played in the U.S., differing from croquet chiefly in the use of a hard-surfaced, embanked court, ten hoops, and short-handled mallets. Also attrib.
