rolley|ˈrɒlɪ| Also rolly. [Of obscure origin: perh. connected with roll v.2, but cf. rulley.] 1. Mining. A kind of truck without sides, formerly much in use for carrying corves along underground horse-roads or upon rails to the shaft.
