rhœadic, a. Chem.|riːˈædɪk| Also rhe-. [f. Gr. ῥοιαδ-, ῥοιάς a kind of poppy + -ic.] rhœadic acid, a principle found in the flowers of the red poppy (Papaver Rhœas). So ˈrhœadine, a crystalline alkaloid found in the red poppy; rhœˈagenine (see quot. 1872).
