arsphenamine|ɑːsˈfɛnəmaɪn, -iːn| [f. arsenic + phen- + amine.] A synthetic compound of arsenic, C12H12O2N2As22HCl, used in the treatment of spirillic diseases, as syphilis and yaws. Cf. Salvarsan.
