poroporo|ˈpɒrəʊpɒrəʊ| [Maori name.] A shrub, Solanum aviculare, belonging to the family Solanaceæ, native to Australia and New Zealand, and bearing violet-blue flowers followed by large orange berries; also called bullibulli or kangaroo apple.
