More fully ponzu sauce. In Japanese cookery: a sauce made with soy sauce and bitter citrus juice, and sometimes dashi, mirin, or vinegar, typically mixed with condiments such as bonito flakes, kelp, spring onions, grated daikon, or powdered chilli pepper, and used as a dipping sauce.
