Plantin|ˈplæntɪn| The name of Christophe Plantin (1514–89), printer, of Antwerp, used to designate a family of old-face types, based on a 16th-century Flemish original, the first of which was designed by F. H. Pierpont for the Monotype Corporation in 1913.
