pinene Chem.|ˈpaɪniːn| [ad. G. pinen (O. Wallach 1885, in Ann. d. Chem. u. Pharm. CCXXVII. 300), f. L. pīn-us pine n.2 + G. -en -ene.] Either or both of two isomeric liquid terpenes, C10H16, which are the major constituents of turpentine and differ in the position of the double bond.
